Dr. Kotelawala has been the Chairman since the inception of the Bank in 1992. He is also the Chairman of over 200 companies under Ceylinco Consolidated with over 30,000 employees, over 350 branches and 15 branch offices around the world. He was responsible for the establishment and steering of the Ceylinco Sarana Fund, a social and charity fund, begun 23 years ago for the upliftment of the under priviledged people in the country, as well as in Introducing and setting up the Grameen Banking concept (banking to the poor), which has over 90,000 customers with a commendable recovery rate. Dr. Kotelawala was appointed the Chairman of the Economic Development Commission of the North Western and Central Regions during the years 2003/2004, and was honoured with the Doctorate of Literature Honoris Causa by the Management Faculty of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura in March 2003. He is also the Honorary Consul General for the Republic of Singapore in Sri Lanka.

MMr. R.S.W. Senanayake, is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom. He presently functions as the Deputy Chairman of Seylan Merchant Bank Group, Ceylinco Capital Market Limited, and Ceylinco Maini (Pvt) Ltd. Mr. Senanayake gained experience in accounting and auditing through a stint with M/s Coopers & Lybrand (presently known as PricewaterhouseCoopers) and has been involved in the securities industry for many years. He worked at Somerville Stock Brokers (Private) Limited, a tenure during which he gained comprehensive exposure on the stock broking business. Mr. Senanayake has specialized in the profession of investment management, and was associated with Central Finance Company PLC as its Investments Manager, managing the equity portfolios of Central Finance Company PLC, Central Securities PLC and some other subsidiaries of Central Finance Company PLC. He then joined Ceylinco Insurance Company PLC as its Senior Investment Manager, holding responsibility for management of the Life, General and Pension Funds of the Company. He is presently associated with Ceylinco Insurance Company PLC in the capacity of Deputy General Manager - Investments.

Lady (Dr.) S.P.C. Kotelawala

Lady (Dr.) Sicille Kotelawala joined Ceylinco Group as Director of Middleway Ltd in 1964. She is the Deputy Chairperson of Ceylinco Consolidated and of The Finance Co Ltd, Ceylinco Ltd, Ceylinco Universal Group and Ceylinco Hotels Group. Lady Kotelawala is the Chairperson of Seylan Bank PLC and is also associated with the jewellery and diamond entities of the Ceylinco Group. She was conferred with the title “FCIC” (Fellowship of the Ceylinco Insurance College) by the Ceylinco Insurance College. Lady Kotelawala is also the Honorary Consul General for the Republic of Cyprus in Sri Lanka, Counsellor for International Trade for the Kingdom of Belgium and Representative of Asia Society NY in Sri Lanka and a member of the International Council. She is also a Life Member of the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka. Lady Kotelawala received the award “The Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World 2005” awarded by the Star Group, USA held in Vancouver, Canada in May 2005.

Mr. M.S.I Peiris, is an Associate member of the Institute of Credit Management of Sri Lanka. He joined Seylan Merchant Bank in 1994 and presently functions as the Director/ General Manager of Seylan Merchant Leasing PLC. Mr. Peiris has extensive experience in leasing counting over 20 years in the industry.

Mr. R. Renganathan

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. R Renganathan joined Ceylinco Consolidated in 1983. He was entrusted with the task of setting up the Life Division of Ceylinco Insurance after the government of Sri Lanka permitted insurers to enter the Insurance Industry in 1987. He is also the Jt. Deputy Chairman of Seylan Bank PLC, Chairman of Seylan Bank Asset Management Ltd. and Deputy Chairman of Ceylinco Development Bank , Ceylinco Savings Bank Ltd. and Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd. Mr. Renganathan is also Chief Executive Director (Life) of Ceylinco Insurance Co. PLC, which continues to maintain market leadership in the Sri Lankan Insurance Industry, also wining the Asia Insurance Review Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Asian Region. Having diversified into the Healthcare Sector by setting up a Cancer Detection Center and a Diabetes Center affiliated to the Washington Hospital Center, he now proposes to set up a Cancer Treatment Center with the latest technology.

Prior to joining the Ceylinco Group as a Legal Officer in 1974, Mr. Jegasothy was attached to M/s De Silva and Mendis, Solicitors and Notaries Public. Mr. Jegasothy was also associated with M/s Coward Chance Firm of Solicitors, UK and counts over 30 years of experience in financial and legal sectors. At present he holds the position of Deputy Chairman/ Managing Director of International Consultancy and Corporate Services (Pvt) Ltd, which handles corporate secretarial matters for many companies in the Ceylinco Consolidated. He is also a member of the Audit Committee of the Bank.

Mr. Ranasinghe has over 26 years of experience in the mercantile sector in marketing and strategic planning. He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayawardenepura and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. Mr. Ranasinghe is one of the pioneer members of the team that helped to set up the Ceylinco Insurance Co. PLC when the Company
commenced operations in 1988. He presently serves on the Board of Ceylinco Development Bank as well. |
